Met just about everybody yesterday, From the poly members to the ahmad abrahams. Now I understand why weekends are so important to NSmen, not only is it a chance for you to catch up on sleep, it also provides a mental boost to your system.
But I only have 3 weeks left before I hopefully move on to CDA, so I plan to make the most of my time in BRTC. Make friends, have fun, and train well. Plus Hari Raya is coming so the mood in Bunk 15 will be over the top!
We shall meet again next weekend.

First week of NS saw me getting through a really tough mental challenge. Being away from home all on your own with people you barely know is very taxing on the mind. And me being me, a free-flying-idealistic-designing-hippie, also found it tough to accept the fact that in there you have no identity, you get stripped of your dignity and all the freedom that you had before this taken away from you.
Not to add that these people would be the last on your “People to be best friends with” list, what with their personal histories and lifestyles that would make someone like me bolt the other direction.
And it also does not help that the food in there is NAJIS to the max.
But.
Because everyone in there has no dignity, no identity and no say whatsoever, all of us tend to group together to form a whole solid team. It’s not the similarities that count, it’s what different in everyone that matters. I’m sure I’ll get used to the system pretty soon, and I’m determined to prove to everyone that I can lead and perform in the next coming 3 weeks.
I just need to overcome this “mental hesitance” and after that I’m all set. I’ll blog again next week.
